My latest read: Ophelia by Lisa Klein. I positively adored how this book provided a fresh look into one of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies. (Hamlet, for those of you who don’t know more than one of his plays. Tsk, tsk.) This was really interesting for me, because I never really thought of Ophelia that way before, and when I revisit Hamlet, I am sure that I will think about it differently, now that I have a back story on a character other than poor Hamlet. I loved how the author actually quoted the play, because it made the whole thing even more believable. The story on its own is fantastic, even if you haven’t read the play. I actually read this book in a day because it was so good. I know Shakespeare can be intimidating, but give this book a shot. You may actually find yourself reading the play. Well, that’s all for now. Have a wonderful day, and read something good for me.

Usually, I don’t read a lot of chicklit (overly girly literature) but alas, this week I gave in to the pastel polka dotted dust jacket of The Teashop Girls. (Polka dots are my weakness. I love dots.) Expecting the usual weak plot and shallow characters of most chicklit, I was taken aback when I found that this was actually a good book! It’s not the most complex story, mind you, but it is good. It starts out with Annie Green asking her grandmother for a job in her teashop, The Steeping Leaf. When she hears that the shop might close, she asks her friends for help. And that’s about it. I mean, that’s all I can give without telling the ending. Again, not very deep, but amusing. The characters are quite enjoyable. My favorite is Genna because she’s so dramatic and random. I like the part where she steals a coffee pot from the AV lounge. In conclusion, The Teashop Girls is a good selection if you want a light, feel good story with a polka dotted dust jacket. Expect more when I find a more creative way to finish a post.

I read the Twilight series, by Stephanie Meyer. I know what you’re all thinking, ” Oh my gosh another person that’s talking about those books”. Well, I look at these books at a different point of view. When I read Twilight books I imagine what it would look like. I imagine myself as Bella or Alice. I image what it would all look like, feel like, be like. Close your eyes and just imagine it all…
